This past weekend allowed us a full Saturday on which to work. We got quite a bit done too! You may remember us talking about our lumber score from Jordan Forest Products a few days ago. As some of you looked through the pics you commented on the condition and how we were ever going to get quality building material out of such a scrap heap. That really just prompted me to do an extra fine job on the cutting, ripping, and planing. I invite you to watch the following video just to see how it started and how it ended up.
Plan on seeing our next step in the next few days. Until then I leave with some highlight photos from the weekend. To see all of our photos visit our “Tiny House” flickr collection.
Looking good Bro!
Thank you sir. We are doing the best we can!
Did you rent the planer?
We did not Jake. My father actually owns this DeWalt planer: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100634640/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&keyword=planer&storeId=10051
However, you can rent planers in all sizes from places like Lowes, Home Depot, Sunbelt, etc. from what I understand.
Loved the video, Drew! I’m doing a website with a local mill in exchange for mill work. I plan to have them mill my siding from old barnboard 🙂
Thank you Ethan. I do appreciate it. Bartering is great. Good for you. Will we see any video of your work?
