Tiny House Update – 12.31.12

Where has the time gone? Another year has passed and Tiny r(E)volution is preparing to enter its 3rd full year of media-mentary. To date we’ve published 264 blog posts, uploaded 16 “How-To” videos, broadcast 33 podcast episodes, and been featured in just over 23 publications. To think it all started out as just a Google search for a Minnie Winnie to live in for a while!

This week though is perhaps our biggest one yet. On Saturday we will be breaking dawn on the road headed to land in rural eastern North Carolina where will be setting up our tiny house trailer and beginning the next phase of our homesteading adventure. While we will not be living there full time quite yet we will be doing quite a bit of work, doing some problem solving, and laying the foundation for future projects. This is also the time that we will install and unveil our tiny house gourmet kitchen (or most of it anyway!) I anticipate it being all at once exciting, nerve wracking, overwhelming, exhausting, and one heck of an adventure!

As I write this it seems that I have a lot of catching up to do including uploading some photos, archiving some photos, sorting through emails and letters to Tiny r(E)v, editing some r(E)vo Convo recordings, and packing up things to be moved along with the tiny house. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the new year though!

I live in NC and would love to see your tiny house. I’m so excited to see some activity on the east coast, most everything seems to be out west. I know there has been some interest in Asheville, is that where you are going? Good luck, looking forward to seeing more and would love to meet you sometime.

We will be in eastern North Carolina. And yes, you are right. A lot of west coast action. However, North Carolina is gaining fast as we currently have 6 tiny houses established in the state and more on the way. Stay tuned for some interesting collaborations that will help advance tiny houses in NC. And when we get more settled I will make an open invitation to folks!
