How-To add Your Roof Sheathing

by andrewodom on June 26, 2012 · 6 comments

Nothing says “dried in” quite like some roof sheathing. For our tiny house we were fortunate enough to have LP ProStruct Roof Sheathing with SilverTech. The SilverTech features a radiant barrier that helps reduce the sun’s radiant energy through the roof panel in the summer! Along with its professional-grade, logo-free appearance, LP ProStruct Roof Sheathing with SilverTech helps give any outdoor structure a superior look that’s engineered to perform.

Having said that, we hope you enjoy our latest “How-To” video. It certainly is our pleasure to make them and we enjoy hearing back from each viewer.

As always we encourage you to subscribe to our channel on YouTube, view our project photos on Flickr, become a part of the community on Facebook, or even join us on Google+.

I also want to invite you to our weekly podcast on BlogTalkRadio. You can listen in every Thursday at 2:30pm EST, join the live chatroom, or subscribe via iTunes.

Please don’t stand on top of a folding ladder like that.  Please buy a taller ladder, it is cheaper than the medical bills from a fall.

Thank you Michael for the note and the concern. You are absolutely right and in an ordinary circumstance I would have thought better. However, in that particular moment I was task-oriented and not thinking too much of safety. Note well taken though!

why did it print my name? Honest. Is the exterior OSB?

I don’t know what you mean by why it printed your name. Whatever the case, it is a strandboard product, yes. It is called SmartSide. You can see a video about it here: http://tinyrevolution.us/2012/06/06/how-to-apply-siding-to-your-tiny-house-with-lp-smartside/

Haha Andrew,  Micheal_H007 called you out…. I noticed and thought you need a taller ladder, as well…. lol    This was about a product that I knew little about.  Thanks for the tutorial…. well done.

He did call me out and I acknowledged so. It was a dumb move on my part and I am just thankful I WASN’T hurt in any way. You can bet I have been more careful since!
